We are proud to partner with William Pike Challenge to provide adventurous activity days that are specifically tailored to the requirements of the WPC Programme.

William Pike is a Kiwi explorer, a teacher, and a survivor of a volcanic eruption. In 2007, William lost his leg that was trapped under debris and rubble. He hasn’t let this change his outlook on life and it has not stopped him from doing what he loves. He climbs mountains, goes bush walking, scuba diving, hunting, kayaking and more.

WPC is designed to be completed over one calendar year for students in year 6 to 9. The outdoor programme is broken in to 3 categories; Community Service, Passion Projects and Outdoor Activities, which is where we come in.

The “Pikelets” need to complete 5 outdoor activities, and these can range from a bush survival day to an overnight adventure race.

WPC has specific requirements for your activities;

  • Challenging with 2 or more hours of purposeful effort.
  • Outdoors, off-site and take place over the school calendar year
  • Planned and facilitated by the school or a registered outdoor provider.
  • Human-powered (no quad biking, go-karting, or engine powered scootering etc.)
  • Include opportunities for 21st-century skill development like confidence, leadership, communication skills and teamwork.
