Working With Us
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our existing team. This is a role that requires someone experienced in the Outdoors that has strong staff management skills and specific Health and Safety experience at a Senior level. Ideally you will be passionate about the Outdoor Industry, highly technical in one or more Outdoor pursuits and familiar with the Adventure Activity Safety Audit process.
This role will require you to keep our Safety Audit current, manage a small team, oversee our equipment and warehouse and be a leader that inspires and motivates others. Ideally you have the right experience that enables you to work both in the office and out in the field.
This is a Full-Time role, primarily Monday-Friday.
Bike Skills Instructors
Join us and use your passion for bikes to educate and empower our youth.
Full training will be provided through Bigfoot Adventures and Bike Ready. We can build your skills, knowledge and confidence so you are ready to pass this on to the students. There is also scope for future qualification in cycle skills through the Skills Active pathway.
There are full time, fixed term contracts available to suitable candidates as well as casual contract work for those seeking greater flexibility.
Work hours mostly consist of 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (this will vary for casual contractors).
Bike Skills Manager
Bigfoot Adventures together with Auckland Transport are doing our bit to get more people outside and cycling and most importantly, cycling safely. With over 300kms of cycleways on offer, there is plenty to explore!
We are on the lookout for a Senior Bike Skills Manager to deliver the BikeReady programme in schools and in the community. The role includes leading, mentoring and training a team of cycling instructors, liaising with schools and community groups, and working closely alongside our partners, Auckland Transport.
This is an avenue of growth for the business, and we now need a senior person to take charge of this sector of the business. This is a full-time role and with programmes being delivered 7 days a week, there is some requirement to be flexible with working hours and days.
Though our instructors are technically contractors we don’t treat them as such. We pride ourselves on creating a culture that treats our instructors as family. We do so by:
- Hosting regular staff functions, including the award of the much coveted GC (Good Contractor) Award each term
- Running numerous activity trainings throughout the year
- Offering a variety of work from multi day Duke of Edinburgh Tramps and high level mountain bike journeys to in-school activity days, camps and BikeReady Bike Skills Programmes.
- Facilitating instructor check-ins, looking at progressions, formal qualifications and continual improvement
Most importantly by just having FUN!
