Megan Tapara

Programme Manager

Megan comes from the wonderful underground world of Waitomo, with a childhood of adventure, from beneath the ground in caves to climbing to the top of mountain peaks with her family, she fostered her passion for exploration in the wonderful outdoor environments of Aotearoa. Graduating in 2014 from AUT with a Bachelor in Sport and Recreation: Outdoor Education she pursued her dream to live, breathe and work in the outdoors.

This has taken her through various facets of the outdoor industry, from caving, rafting, tramping, snorkelling, and kayaking. She now finds herself compiling awesome programmes for others that are wanting to experience and share the great outdoors with others. With Te Ao Maori knowledge, Megan’s passion is to share these magical places, knowledge, histories and opportunities that are on our doorstep in Aotearoa with others.

Megan’s spare time is spent with her children getting outdoors as much as possible, from local bush walks, to fishing and camping, and spending the summer days at the beach. Megan is a big kid at heart, sharing these moments with her family keeps the flame burning.
