What We Offer

Our programmes vary significantly, involving residential and non-residential camps, activity days (single or multi-day and single or multi-activity), unit standard delivery and assessment, Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions, customised trips, cycle safety and team corporate days.

In-School ProgrammesThis cost-effective alternative to the traditional school camp allows you to choose from Bigfoot Adventures specifically designed activities that can take place within school grounds. This allows for a large number of children to experience all of the activities over a period of one to five days.

Customised Trips: We can create and develop programmes to suit corporate, social or community groups’ needs. Depending on the area you would like to explore, the activity you’d like to try out and the number of participants involved, we can come up with a fun day out for you. Caving, Abseiling, Kayaking, followed by a BBQ where you can unwind and relax has been a popular option in the past.

School CampsBigfoot Adventures provides a fun, safe and hassle-free total camp management service, arranging all aspects of your school camp from start to finish. Transport, food, accommodation, activities, qualified instructors and equipment can all be provided and organised for you. Bigfoot uses a variety of camp locations available throughout the North Island from Whangarei to Mt Ruapehu.

Safety Management Systems Support: Bigfoot Adventures can assist your school or your chosen activity provider to develop and improve their safety management systems. From simple review of plans and operations that provide you with points to work on yourself; to full engagement and creation of school / programme specific safety plans. With the drive towards better and safer EOTC programmes, let Bigfoot Adventures be your partner to achieve the best.

Duke of Edinburgh ExpeditionsThe Duke of Edinburgh Award offers young people an amazing opportunity for personal growth and development, gaining life-skills, and creating life-long friendships. Our unique program has been designed to align with the Award’s syllabus and this, when paired with our very ‘hands on’ approach to teaching, makes our Duke of Edinburgh programme such a valuable experience for all of those involved.

Cycle Safety ProgrammesCyclist training enhances students’ cycling skills and teaches them how to ride their bikes safely. This not only helps young people become more confident and capable cyclists, but gives them the ability to take responsibility for their own safety on a bike. Bigfoot also assists Auckland Transport with Adult Beginner Bike evenings, Bike Maintenance sessions, bike skills course and biking events within the community.

Specific Pursuit training, assessing unit standardsWe can assess unit standards for the following pursuits:

  • Sea & Whitewater Kayaking
  • Mountain Biking
  • Rock Climbing & Abseiling
  • Tramping & Bushcraft

Consideration for the Outdoors: Bigfoot Adventures endeavours to protect the environment and uphold responsible camping ethics on all our trips and activities. We have a pack-in pack-out philosophy and recycle wherever possible. We believe that accountable and sustainable use of the outdoors is paramount to continued enjoyment of our wonderful wilderness.
